We want your holiday with us to be as smooth and restful as possible. With that in mind we have included the following in every cottage:

Flat screen digital TV – (some cottages have more than one), A DVD player with a selection of DVDs is also provided.

Enclosed garden – As well as the grounds of the Marshwood Manor estate, each cottage has a private garden with lawn, enclosed to keep dogs and young children from wandering too far on their own.

Outdoor Dining area – Each cottage has an area of hard standing with dining table and chairs, parasol and Weber, domed BBQ

Towels and bed linen – All our soft furnishings are replaced regularly to keep pillows plump, sheets crisp and towels fluffy.

Kid’s stuff – all cottages are equipped with a wooden cot with mattress (no bedding since all babies are different as to their personal requirements), a high-chair and stair gates (in 2-storey cottages)

Board games, puzzles and colouring books for young and old.

Appliances – Gas/Electric cooker, microwave, washer/dryer (separate or combined) clothes horse, dishwasher, fridge-freezer

Logs – Our 4 cottages with log burners (Lodge, OF,GS,HL) will have 1 basket of logs provided. Refills can be obtained from our honesty store in the courtyard for £5 per bag.

Initial ‘bits and bobs’ – Guests wish to use their preferred groceries when on holiday but we always make sure there is the following, in place, on arrival
– Washing-up liquid
– J-cloth and sponge
– Kitchen roll
– Tea towels
– Oven gloves
– Some dishwasher tabs
– Tea bags, ground coffee, instant coffee, sugar
– Salt & pepper

Luxury toiletries – All bathrooms are equipped with shower wash, hand wash and moisturiser. In an effort to reduce our use of plastics, we use large, re-fillable bottles and do ask that these not be removed on departure.

Wifi – Excellent wifi is free for all our guests.

Parking – There is ample parking in the car park. Please note that there is a walk of between 25-50m from the car park to the front door of the cottage. The Lodge has parking directly outside the door.

Pets – We don’t provide them (well, unless you count visits from our resident dogs and cats) but we also do not charge an extra for up to two pets coming to stay. (For more than 2 we do make a ‘deep-clean’ charge of £20 and ask that all animals are kept out of bedrooms.) Marshwood Manor is very dog friendly and dogs need not be kept on a lead. Our dogs roam free but please be aware the estate is not completely fenced and if a dog wanted to run away, it could do. Please ensure that you always pick up after your dog.

Grounds – All our guests are welcome to roam in the meadow, ancient woods and drive.

Stars – On many nights of the year we include, completely free of charge, one of the most spectacular night skies you will ever see. Something we ourselves never tire of marvelling at, we encourage all our guests to creep out on clear nights and see the wonder of the stars in the deep, dark Marshwood Vale.

Hazzards – Please be aware there is a stream in the grounds.

Wildlife – Our grounds are home to two species of deer, four species of owl, three species of bat, two mating pairs of buzzards, a pair of woodpeckers, badgers, hedgehogs, foxes, squirrels, butterflies and all the wonderful creatures that share our beautiful English countryside. Please also be aware that other wildlife, perhaps not quite as cuddly to some, share this space. Depending on the time of year, we can be visited by field mice, spiders, cluster-flies, woodlice, wasps, hornets, moths and ants. We always do our best to control these animals and will happily come and remove any for you should you come across them, but each of them have their purpose in our surrounding farmland. We do not routinely blanket spray with chemicals to be rid of them, and will never do so.
