The greatest contribution to Marshwood Manor as a venue is made by the incredible rural idyll that is our small piece of English countryside which has changed little in the last millennium. Six miles from the world-famous Jurassic Coast - a Natural World Heritage Site - this corner of West Dorset is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty resonating with the pastoral romance of Hardy, Wordsworth, and Austen, all of whom found solace here. The Vale of Marshwood, with ancient woodland and rolling landscape, is mysterious, wild, magical, and sealed in the pocket of a bygone age.
